David Morgan, son of John E. and Margaret Griffith Morgan, was born in the Parish of Pwllnewydd, Lianelly, Carmarthenshire, South Wales on August 11, 1845.  Their home in Wales wa a humble one although they weren't as poor as many.  The family consisted of four boys and two girls.  His father was a blacksmith by trade, the boys helping their father in the shop.  My father's work as to sharpen the tools.  Their advantages for schooling were limited, although they did attend a school taught by Illiam Isaacs, a Methodist minister, for some time.
